Before fussie, we actually launched under Vino Disco, a random collection of words we liked at the time. A little nod to Warhol, disco, downtown girls, dim lighting. But when it came to shooting for Vino Disco, pulling scenes together always felt hard. The shoots became overly complicated. Too many props, too many ideas fighting each other. Perfect in theory, but often missing the feeling.
That was one of many pulls toward fussie. Planning shoots suddenly became easy because the world already existed. It was us, our friendships, our habits, our apartments, the way we host, the way we romanticize every night. Nothing had to be invented.
Our first lifestyle shoot happened at one of our best friend’s houses. We sent moodboards into our girls group chat with outfits everyone already had hanging in their closets. A photographer friend from another circle came to shoot everything, and halfway through the night we realized how interconnected everyone actually was. San Francisco is so small. Mutual friends were uncovered, date setups immediately started happening, photos were taken, and everyone left with that glowing little buzz on a Sunday evening.
